Process

Finding a suitable script

FIRST STEP
Finding and/or writing the right script is always a task that requires diligence. At Furious Nerd Productions, we take pride in writing our scripts with the viewer in mind. We seek to write compelling dialogue,  plot driven action, and ultimately, a story worthy of your time.

THEN A good casting

SECOND STEP
Next comes the task of finding the right people for the part. For example, while seeking talent for the film “Jack Be Nimble” we looked at over 700 prospective candidates. The casting took several months and we realized that the cast not only needed to look the part, but also needed to be able to act the part as the director envisioned it. This process was long and tedious but the end result was a cohesive team that came together like a family. A beautiful result made possible only because of the hard work it took to bring this team together.

FILMING THE MOVIE

THIRD STEP
Once casting is complete we move onto locations and the actual filming. Furious Nerd Productions uses a variety of cameras and quality sound gear. Our favorite camera to use is the Red One Mysterium but we also use a variety of DSLR cameras including the Lumix GH-5 and GoPro’s. This combination allows us to shoot in nearly any environment.

Filming days typically run for eight hours but it is not unusual to run longer on days with a heavy work load.

Mounting The Film

Fourth Step
The edit is a process that requires immense amount of patience and a good eye for the art. Our team utilizes editors from both the USA and Canada. Under the direction of Steve Wollett, these skilled experts turn our filming projects into the artistic wonders that you want to see.

FILM PREMIERE

Fifth Step
Eventually the film is complete and it is time to send it off to a theater for release. When possible we host a local premiere but for some films, the premiere will occur at one of the festivals that have honored our productions. Each film offers different avenues of release and pursue the avenue that is most rewarding to our team at the time.
