Did reducing fat consumption nationally help lower obesity and heart disease? No we just added more sugars to foods and to make it cheaper we created High Corn Fructose. What is high fructose corn syrup, why is it being used and how is it damaging our health? Is fructose a poison? Yes; Fructose is a chronic hepatotoxin (alcohol without the buzz) but FDA can’t and won’t regulate it. One glucose one fructose is the chemical makeup which food companies put it into everything in everything to make foods more edible with flavor and works like a browning agent would for meat which does the same thing inside our arteries. It is what is wrong with soda and fruit juices along with baby formulas, why six month old babies are obese because the parents are over feeding with what the government says is GRAS with bad food and chemicals.

Fructose consumption has increased in the past thirty years, coinciding with the obesity epidemic for a calorie is not a calorie, and it is not metabolized like glucose it metabolizes like fat and only the only liver can metabolize fructose, creating uric acid which can lead to gout, hyper tension. Eating more fiber can help. What is the role of fiber and why is it necessary? Limits sugar metabolizes reduces rate of intestinal carbohydrate absorption, reducing insulin response, increases speed of transit of intestinal contents to ileum, toraise PPY 3-36 and induce satiety, inhibits absorption of some free fatty acids to the colon, which are metabolized by colonic bacteria to short-chain fatty acids(SCFA) which suppress insulin.
Some new things I learned from looking into HFCS is that this all started with the government and Nixon trying to get the food cheaper so he could win votes. Starting the WIC program to feed this stuff to the less fortunate kids creating the diabetes 2 problem we have in the world today. That half the fructose gets stored as fat is something new that I learned from this as well. Changes based on what I learned from this are the Gatorade and sports drinks I have always said you do not need to drink it for the electrolytes water can do just that now with the fructose being stored as fat more gives me another tool to discourage it.
