President Obama acknowledges comic book
Drew Ford is no stranger to most of you. His comics have provided a historical look into America and are worthy of a good read on any given night. Recently Drew wrote me, “I sent President Obama a copy of the new A Sailor’s Story graphic novel collection, and he sent back a letter thanking Golden Age comic book legend Sam Glanzman for his service during WWII.”
I was flabbergasted and now have to look at the President with a slightly different view. He has acknowledged a comic-book legend which is cool as hell. Few presidents in the history of this great nation have taken the time to acknowledge comic-books or the people behind them but this president is aware of geek culture just enough to give credit where credit is due. Bravo Mr President.
I too wish to express my own personal thanks to the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces. It is due to their bravery and commitment to freedom that we can live in this great nation.
Here is the letter for you to check out. It is pretty damned cool.
