DRIPO Cold Brew Review

I drink coffee every day as many Americans do but I tend to drink traditional coffee brewed in an old cowboy percolator. I love my coffee but I keep hearing stories about how great cold brew is and wanted to try it out. The people who make Dripo sent me a Dripo Ice-Drip Coffee Maker. Unpacking it was great but then I read the directions. I read it can take up to three hours to make a single cup of coffee. This was disappointing as I wanted my coffee now. So I went and brewed a pot in my percolator to satisfy my immediate need. Later that day I set up my dripo and let it do its stuff while I slept. The next morning I awoke to find my cup of cold brew coffee. Well it made one strong cup of coffee. Something like espresso on steroids. I don’t know if it is accurate to say this but it seemed to have a stronger caffeine hit. I used Ethiopian coffee and it turned out really good.

Verdict

The Dripo Ice Drip Coffee Maker may not be for everyone but if you are that person who likes a late afternoon cup of coffee, this may be perfect for you. You can set it up in the morning and set it on your desk and by lunch you can have Japanese style cold brew coffee. The unit is inexpensive and you will need to find the right coffee and volume of coffee for for your personal taste. The Dripo is very easy to use, as you can see from the video below.  The design is minimalist and a perfect addition to your office decor. A very cool product. The video below is someone else’s review that I found quite worthwhile. Check it out and see the Dripo in action.

The parts slide together smoothly and cleaning was a breeze. There is this little filter that comes with the dripo and I have not quite figure out why. Still I used it as described and my results where great. I want to experiment with making this coffee with luke warm water instead of iced. Will it work and will it taste just as good. Who knows.
